Sustain our Efforts - Rebuild the Panda Nature Reserves

The 12 May 2008 earthquake severely damaged 49 panda nature reserves and destroyed 526km2 panda habitats. As damaging as it was to human families, the earthquake also destroyed panda breeding centres and reserve stations.

OPCFHK cares not only for the wild pandas but also for the people who cared for them, patrolled the reserves and supported the many conservation efforts. In the first year, OPCFHK sent relief and office equipment to help the reserve resume daily operation as well as vehicles and construction of a reserve station.

In the coming years, OPCFHK will continue to work with the Sichuan Forestry Department to support rebuilding, habitat restoration, capacity building for panda nature reserves and conservation research.

We need your support to sustain our efforts for the pandas and other wildlife sharing the habitats:
